Night Train privacy policy

Night Train is a sleep app by tancode (Ahmet Aytanözü). There is no account, and the app never asks for your e-mail, phone number or real name. This page explains what is stored, where, and why. Last updated 2026-09-12.

Kept on your device only

Your route, your journal of nights, your postcards, the morning alarm and bedtime reminder, and your sound and sleep timer settings. There are no accounts and there are no ads. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

The one thing that outlives the app

So that the three free nights are three free nights and not three every time the app is installed again, the app keeps a list of the calendar dates on which you opened it. On iOS that list is written to the system keychain, which the phone keeps after the app is deleted; on Android it can come back through the phone's own backup. It is dates and nothing else. It never leaves your device, it is not sent to us or to anyone, and it does not identify you. Buying Night Train Plus makes it irrelevant, and resetting your phone or clearing its keychain removes it.

What the app counts

We use Firebase Analytics (Google) to see where people stop using the app: how many finish the three opening pages, how many nights they ride, whether they find the things the window does, when the price is shown and whether a purchase goes through. It is counts and the names of those moments, nothing else. We do not send your route, your journal, your postcards, anything you type, or your location. On Android the analytics library can read the device's advertising ID, because that permission ships inside Firebase Analytics. We show no ads, we do not use it to target anything, and nothing is joined to data from other companies' apps or sites. Firebase gives the app an anonymous instance identifier so the same phone is not counted twice; it is not your name and we cannot turn it back into you.

We also use Firebase Crashlytics. If the app crashes it sends the technical report of that crash: where in the code it happened, the version of the app, the model of phone and the version of its operating system. It does not send your journal, your route or anything you wrote. A crash is the reason people leave without telling you, so this is the only way we find out. Purchases

Night Train Plus is a single purchase, paid once, and nothing renews. It is processed by Apple or Google under their terms; we never see payment details. We use RevenueCat to validate the purchase and unlock the app. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, randomly generated app user ID, the purchase receipt, your device platform and app version. It does not receive your name, e-mail or contacts. RevenueCat's policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.

Data we do not collect

Location, contacts, photos, microphone, health data, precise device identifiers, advertising identifiers.

Children

Night Train is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Your rights

Data on your device is removed by deleting the app. Beyond that there is only the anonymous purchase record held by RevenueCat and the stores, and the anonymous analytics counts. To request their deletion or ask anything else, write to [email protected].

Changes

When this policy changes, this page is updated and the date above is renewed.
